Background

Janice Rich was honored by the voters to be elected Mesa County Clerk & Recorder in 2002, and again in 2006. As County Clerk, the departments she oversees have realized many successes. The Recording and Motor Vehicle offices have been streamlined for customer efficiencies; the Elections Division continues to be recognized for its leadership role in Colorado with fair, accurate and lawful elections.

Prior to being elected Mesa County Clerk & Recorder, Janice owned a secretarial and business support services for six years, utilizing her 23+ years’ experience working for and with Mesa County attorneys and the Federal Courts.

Janice’s interest in her community really began in the early 1980s when mentor (and former boss for 20 years), the late Jim Robb, served as Mesa County’s State Representative from District 54.

Her service to the to the Republican Party includes being an active member of the Mesa County Republicans, Mesa County Republican Women (serving two terms as an officer), and Centennial Republican Women; campaign manager for former State Representative Gayle Berry (1996, 1998, 2000); and volunteering on many Republican campaigns.

Janice Rich (formerly Janice Ward) is originally from Texas; however she moved to Mesa County, Colorado more than 36 years ago. It has been her home ever since! Three years ago, Janice married Steve Rich. When time permits, they enjoy bicycling and sailing in the summer, skiing in the winter.
